Day 1 Flight from Finland to Armenia
Flight from Helsinki via Riga to Yerevan.
Flight schedule: 15.30 Helsinki – Riga 16.25, 20.15 Riga – Yerevan 01.30
Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2 Tour of Yerevan
Morning rest. Departure for the Yerevan tour at noon. The statue of Mother Armenia
offers a view over Yerevan towards Mount Ararat. The 2805 year old Armenian
capital is a charming mix of cozy parks, history and modern
city of millions. The Armenian Genocide (1915-1923) is still an open wound,
affecting every Armenian. We will visit the Genocide Memorial and
Museum. Dinner and overnight in Yerevan. (A,P)

Day 3 Excursion to Khor Virap (Deep Gap) Monastery
About an hour’s drive away on the dramatic Turkish border lies Khor Virap (Deep Gap) Monastery –
. Located at the foot of Mount Ararat, the monastery is the birthplace of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The village of Aren
is home to the oldest shoe and wine factory in the world. We will visit archaeological excavations.
Dinner and overnight in the spa town of Yermuk. (A,P)

Day 4 from Yerevan to Gori
An hour and a half drive to Syunik province. Prehistoric observatory Karahundz and
stunning views of Tatev, the “king of monasteries”, where we travel on the world’s longest
cable car. Lunch in Halidzor. Overnight in Goris, the city of roses. (A,L)

Day 5
Back in the 19th century, Khdzoresk was the largest village in eastern Armenia. We spend the day climbing
in the amazing cave village landscape. Vorotnavank Monastery from the 1000s. Dinner and
overnight in Sissian. (A,P)

Day 6 Shaki waterfall, return to Yerevan
Near Sissian we visit the Shaki waterfall. A couple of hours drive
to the red mountain pass along the ancient Silk Road leads to the extraordinary Noravank Monastery (1200 l.).
Lunch at Noravank. Visit to the Aren winery. Return (approx. 2 hours) to Yerevan. Overnight stay
in Yerevan. (A,L)

Day 7 UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery
The unique Geghard Monastery is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will also visit
Garn, the only temple in Armenia dating back to pagan times.
We will learn about the traditional making of lavash bread and enjoy lunch in the village of Garn. Overnight
in Yerevan. (A,L)

Day 8 Free time in Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel, free time and shopping day in Yerevan. Hotel rooms available until departure

Day 9 Flight from Yerevan via Riga to Helsinki
