The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or Saudi Arabia is a country in the Middle East. It covers most of the Arabian Peninsula and lies between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. We will tour Saudi Arabia and visit three different cities during the trip.

We start our trip in the capital Riyadh, where we will explore the history of the city and visit the National Museum and historic palaces. We will also visit one of the largest camel markets in the world, where we can see camels worth up to a million rials.

From Riyadh, we fly to cosy Jeddah on the Red Sea, where we explore the historic centre of Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also go on a desert safari and a boat cruise, and have the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the Red Sea.

Our third destination is the city of Taif, about 200 km from Jeddah. Taif is located higher up in the mountains and so the temperature there is significantly lower than in Jeddah. Taif is famous for its roses and is home to some of the world’s most famous rose water factories, which we will visit. On the way to Taif, we will also see the famous clock tower of Mecca as we pass the city at close range.

Saudi Arabian cuisine, inherited from Bedouin customs, is worth a mention; rice, spices, wheat and vegetables are often used. The traditional bread, khubz or kubez, is eaten at every meal. Pork is forbidden, but chicken and lamb are widely eaten. Wonderful sweet treats include muhalabia rice pudding and Arabic cake. The coffee culture is highly valued in Saudi Arabia.
