On the Baltic coast, between Lithuania and Poland, is a curious enclave of Russia, an interesting mix of the Soviet Union and Central Europe. <\/p>\n<h3>Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Kaliningrad was a closed city, with foreigners barred from entering, and citizens of the rest of Russia\/Soviet Union needed special permission.<\/h3>\n<p>The programme includes a day trip to Kuurinkynt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Almost 100 kilometres of natural wonder in the Baltic Sea &#8211; dunes, lagoons and colourful wooden houses attract people, but the sensitive nature reserve is restricted from tourism to preserve its biodiversity. The sandy beach facing the Baltic Sea is almost untouched, which makes the trip even more unique.<br \/>\nGdansk and Sopot are a great short city break destination, with cheap prices.  <\/p>\n<p>A unique history and cultural landscape invites curious and open-minded tourists. Flight from Helsinki to Gdansk departs at 08.39. We arrive at 09.30, where the group will be met by a driver and his coach. Transfer to Kaliningrad, where we will arrive around 14.00-15.00.    <\/p>\n<p>We stay 3 nights at the Ibis Kaliningrad *** hotel in the centre of Kaliningrad. Kaliningrad is a nice and relaxed little town with the Pregolya River running through it. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2 Life and sights of Kaliningrad (A,L)<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast, we start our sightseeing tour. Until 1946, Kaliningrad was part of Germany and the city was called K\u00f6nigsberg. We will visit the Amber Museum, one of the most important museums in the city, as the area has been an important amber region. Lunch will be enjoyed in the Fisherman&#8217;s Village, restored in German style with its promenade along the Pregolja River.   <\/p>\n<p>After lunch, we will visit Kaliningrad Cathedral. The cathedral houses the tomb of the city&#8217;s most famous resident, the 1700s philosopher Immanuel Kant. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3 Svetlogorsk, the coastal city and the dancing forest of Kuurinkyntje (A,L)<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast we head to Svetlogorsk, the spa town. We will take a walk along the waterfront promenade and enjoy lunch before visiting the Kurinkynn Forest. We drive past attractive dunes, lagoons and colourful wooden houses admiring the scenery! We walk through the dancing forest and return to Kaliningrad at dusk.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4 towards Gdansk (A)<\/strong><br \/>\nBreakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Gdansk, Ibis Gdansk hotel. Afternoon at leisure.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 5 Beautiful and old Hanseatic city (A)<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast, we will take a three-hour guided walking tour of Gdansk Old Town.<br \/>\nGdansk&#8217;s history is marked by German influence, and until the end of World War II, Gdansk was known by its German name Danzig.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 6 Spa town atmosphere in Sopot &#8211; towards home (A)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe morning is free. At 12.00 we check in. We depart for Sopot, about 12 km from Gdansk.<br \/>\nSopot has an old European spa town atmosphere. Sopot&#8217;s most famous attraction is the pier Molo, a staggering 511 metres long.   <\/p>\n<p>Sopot&#8217;s main street, Monte Cassino, runs practically through the whole of Sopot all the way to the beach. Along the street are the main attractions, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, art galleries and good shopping. <\/p>\n<p>From Sopot we drive directly to Gdansk airport. The flight from Gdansk to Helsinki leaves at 20.05. We arrive at 23.05.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"modal-footer\"><button class=\"fusion-button button-default button-medium button default medium\" type=\"button\"
