The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that from 8 November, nine new countries will be able to travel to China without a visa. Visas are now required for tourist, business and family visits to China for up to 15 days. Finland is included in this group. <\/strong><\/p>\n The Embassy of China in Finland will exempt applicants from fingerprinting for single or double entry visas for business, tourist, family visit, transit and crew member visas until 31 December 2024.<\/p>\n Fingerprints linked to passport number<\/p>\n From 20.02.2023, visa applicants will have to revisit the Chinese Visa Service Centre to submit fingerprints if their passport has changed, even if the biometers were issued within five years.<\/p>\n The China Visa Service Centre is currently open Mon – Fri 09.00-12.00. The normal processing time for visas is 4 business days. It is also possible to apply for a visa with a 2 – 3 business day fast-track processing. <\/p>\n We recommend that you make an appointment between 09.00 and 10.00 to submit your biometric data. This time is reserved exclusively for travel agency clients and will make the process smoother.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> When travelling to China, you will need a visa. We will take the application and collect the completed passport and visa from the consulate and, if necessary, post it back to you by express letter. <\/p>\n The delivery time for a visa is the processing time at the consulate (usually 4 business days) + the time it takes for the post to arrive. The consulate also issues visas with fast-track processing for an additional fee. <\/p>\n When applying for a visa, you must provide Traveller Ltd with:<\/p>\n<\/div> The invitation letter prepared by the inviting organisation must include:<\/p>\n Personal data of the inviting person (full name, date of birth, passport number, gender), purpose and date of the trip, information that a single entry visa is requested, information about the inviting organisation (name of the organisation, name of the contact person, telephone number and e-mail), signature and stamp. A copy of the invitation may also be provided. In addition, the date of departure and arrival of the forthcoming trip must be included. <\/p>\n or alternatively, a Letter of Local Foreign Affairs Office or Invitation Letter of Local Commerce Bureau in China (PU Letter) can be used as an invitation.<\/p>\n Keep the invitation for the duration of your trip and present it to the border authority when you arrive in China.<\/p>\n NOTE! Non-EU or non-Schengen nationals must attach the original residence permit for Finland and a copy of it or the original Kela card and a copy of it. If the applicant has a Chinese background, the consulate has additional requirements. You can ask us or the consulate about them. <\/p>\n Applications must be filled in carefully and each point must be answered. We will check the applications before submitting them to the consulate and if there is an incomplete application, we will charge \u20ac5 for completing\/correcting it, if there are several items we will charge the full visa application fee, \u00e1 \u20ac100 per application.<\/p>\n<\/div> The visa will only be processed once we have received all the necessary documents.<\/p>\n NOTE! Please also see our China visa application form.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div> Fill in your visa application online<\/p><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div> Chinese consulate website<\/p><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div> Finnish citizens in transit via Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing airports may stay in the territory without a visa for up to 72 hours under the conditions set out below.<\/p>\n The visa waiver therefore only applies to passengers travelling from China to a third country.<\/p>\n However, you cannot leave cities with a visa-free travel permit. If you plan to travel elsewhere in China, you will need to obtain a visa. <\/p>\n When you arrive at Shanghai airport, you can stay visa-free for 144 hours. Also, you do not currently need a visa to travel to Hong Kong and Macau, for trips of less than 90 days.<\/p>\n<\/div> To study in China, you must apply for either an X1 or X2 visa. The X1 visa is for studies lasting more than 180 days, the X2 visa is for studies lasting less than 180 days (e.g. half-year exchange studies). For the student visa, the original and a copy of the JW201 or JW202 form (“Visa Application for Study in China”) and the Admission Notice form issued by the Ministry of Education of China are required. Note! The forms must also be signed by the applicant. Please note that for the issuance of the student visa, the Chinese Consulate will ask you to come to the Consulate in Helsinki to provide your fingerprints. <\/p>\n If you are going to China for a work placement related to your studies, please note that the Chinese consulate will require you to submit a work permit with your visa application, even if it is an unpaid placement. We recommend that you consult the school and company before submitting your application to ensure you receive the correct invitation.<\/p>\n<\/div> Choose the right type of visa and submit all the necessary attachments to Traveller. The visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and allows a stay of 30 days, unless a longer period is requested. <\/p>\n The date of issue is the date on which the visa application is submitted to the embassy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Entitles you to two admissions. You must enter China within 6 months of the visa being issued. An air ticket must be presented for both entries, unless there is no invitation. <\/p>\n The double visa is valid for 6 months from the date of issue and allows you to stay in the country for 30 days at a time. The date of issue is the date of submission of the visa application to the embassy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Entitles to several stomach accesses within six months of issue. Application must be accompanied by an invitation letter approved by the Chinese authority. A BtoB invitation signed and sent by the company is not sufficient. “Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit” or “Confirmation Letter of Invitation”.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Entitles you to several admissions per year. The passport remains at the embassy for the entire processing.<\/p>\n The visa is affixed to the page of your passport. The visa is valid as soon as it is issued. It is therefore not possible to apply for a visa for a specific period. <\/p>\n When you mail in your application, you should also send us an envelope stating the postal address to which you would like your passport returned.
