The application procedure for Tourist visa on arrival (TVOA) has changed. The visa application is a two-step process: before departure, you apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) using a similar online form to the one used to apply for a visa at the embassy. The visa fee is also paid online. Once the application has been approved, the authorisation is sent to the applicant’s e-mail address, where it must be printed out to take with you on your journey. On arrival at the airport in India, the permit is presented to the immigration officer, who puts his stamp on the passport. The airport visa is valid for up to 30 days from the date of stamping. An EEA permit applied for in advance is valid for 30 days from the date of issue, so you should apply for an EEA permit no earlier than 30 days before your planned trip. <\/p>\n
