1. CUSTOMER DATA TO BE COLLECTED

We ask for some of your personal information for the booking, such as:

  • Name
  • e-mail address
  • phone number
  • Sex
  • citizenship
  • date and place of birth for the trips for which this information is required
  • Passport number and expiry date for trips where it is required, e.g. for visa applications. If we are dealing with a visa or admission matter concerning you, additional information may also be requested on the application forms for the country of destination. Such additional information may include personal and family details, educational background, employment history, travel history and financial information. At the request of the relevant visa or other authorities, such additional sensitive information may include information on ethnic origin, race, religion, trade union membership, health, biometric data and criminal records.
  • Insurance information for those trips where it is required, e.g. for applying for a visa.

We use this information to book the services you have requested, to send you confirmation details and, if necessary, to inform you of any news or changes to your trip. If we have any problems fulfilling your request, we will contact you. We will only use your telephone number if we need to reach you urgently.

In addition, we may collect the following information for customer service purposes:

  • all information on reservations
  • payment method information, billing information, any payment delay information
  • if you have opted out of the use of your data for direct marketing purposes
  • whether you have given your consent to direct marketing by electronic means (marketing by SMS or email)
  • your information about your use and purchase of our services
  • Information about your choices and preferences (e.g. special room requirements, travel categories, accessibility issues)
  • other information relevant to the management of your relationship with us
  • technical information from the website (cookies)

Personal data may be added to the MailChimp newsletter program and to a cloud service managed by Microsoft, whose servers may be located outside the EU. These services have committed to comply with the EU data protection regulation by signing the Privacy Shield agreement.

The details of orders placed through the shop can also be found in the administration interface of this website, which is also password protected. The website is hosted on the domestic Zoner server and Zoner takes security seriously.

2. COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Your customer information is owned only by Traveller Ltd. Your information is collected for booking and customer service purposes only. The above information may be used for direct marketing in the form of newsletters unless you opt-out.

We only receive information that is voluntarily provided to us:

  • in reserve
  • by email
  • by phone

We never rent or sell customer information to third parties.

We may disclose names and contact information to third parties only to book third party services for you.

3. THE CUSTOMER’S RIGHT TO SEE AND CONTROL THEIR DATA

As our customer, you have the right to:

  • ask you to delete or change your data, see all the data we have collected about you, if any.
  • report your concerns about the use of data
  • indicate that you do not wish to receive any contact or marketing messages

4. SECURITY AND STORAGE OF DATA

When you give us your data, we protect it online and physically in our hotels. Our company has a valid data protection plan to which all staff handling data are familiarised.

When we receive customer information from a third party, all information is encrypted and sent to us securely. You can verify this by checking that the browser you are using has a closed lock image or that the address of the webpage begins with the text “https”.

Your customer data is stored using encryption in a closed system located in a secure environment.

The data is processed only by those persons who need it for customer service or billing purposes. Others do not have access to the data.

Our company cannot be held responsible for the information collected and stored by third party operators, such as online booking sites or travel agencies, in relation to your reservations.

The data will be stored indefinitely, or if you are not a customer for two years or 730 days, the data will be automatically deleted from the hotel system.

5. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that an internet browser stores on a user’s device. Cookies are used, for example, to store information about a user when he or she moves from one page of an internet service to another.

Traveller Oy uses the following cookies:

Login and action cookies to facilitate the use of the service (e.g. saving settings at login to speed up the use of the service and improve the customer experience)

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, anonymised information about users is transmitted to Google and used by Traveller Oy to improve the performance of the site)

Targeted cookies or advertising cookies (these do not contain personal data and can be used to deliver cost-effective advertising on services such as Facebook and Google)

All use of cookies will be anonymised as far as possible.

Other websites to which there may be links on the site collect and use cookies according to their needs. It is up to the user of the website to accept the cookies of each website. If the user does not agree to the collection of information about him/her, he/she should immediately stop using the website in question.

Deleting cookies

If you wish, you can delete cookies from your browser or block their use. Please consult your browser settings, as these are always browser-specific. However, please note that if you decide to do so, it may affect the effective use of the services. By allowing cookies, you will ensure a smoother use of our site.
